Privacy Policy
VeriPray ("VeriPray", "we", "us") is a private prayer community app. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. We've tried to keep it short and honest.
Short version
- We collect only what we need to run the app: your account info, the content you create, and your push notification token.
- We do not run analytics, advertising, or behavioral tracking.
- We do not sell your data. We do not share it with third parties for marketing.
- You can delete your account from inside the app at any time.
What we collect
Account information
- Email address — used to sign in to your account and to send security-related messages (like password resets).
- Display name — shown to other members of your groups and on prayers you post.
- Profile picture (optional) — only uploaded if you choose one from your photo library.
- Privacy preferences — your default posting mode (private/public) and whether you post incognito.
Content you create
- Prayer requests, comments, and personal prayers you write.
- Groups you create or join, including your role in those groups.
- Saved or bookmarked prayers, custom categories, mute lists.
Notification token
- If you enable push notifications, we store an Expo push notification token tied to your account so we can deliver notifications about new prayers, comments, and invitations. You can turn this off any time in your device settings.
What we do not collect
- Location data
- Contacts
- Health or medical data
- Financial information
- Browsing or search history outside the app
- Advertising identifiers
- Device fingerprinting or analytics
How we use it
- To run the core features of the app — let you sign in, post prayers, see prayers from groups you belong to, and receive notifications.
- To prevent abuse — for example, when you report or mute another user.
- To respond to support requests you send us.
We do not use your content to train AI models. We do not use it for advertising.
Where it lives
VeriPray stores account data and content on Convex, our backend platform. Convex hosts data on cloud infrastructure in the United States. By using VeriPray you consent to your data being processed there.
Who can see your prayers
- Private group prayers are visible only to members of that group.
- Public prayers are visible to anyone using VeriPray. If you post incognito, your name is hidden but the prayer text is still public.
- Personal prayers on your "My Prayers" board are visible only to you.
Children
VeriPray is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us at the address below and we will delete it.
Your choices
- Edit or delete prayers — you can delete any prayer or comment you posted from inside the app.
- Turn off notifications — at the OS level (Settings → VeriPray → Notifications) or inside the app.
- Delete your account — go to Profile → Delete Account inside the app, or follow the steps at veripray-web.vercel.app/delete-account. Deleting your account removes your profile, your prayers, your comments, your notification settings, and your group memberships.
Data retention
We keep your content for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, we delete your data within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain something (which is rare and we'll tell you if it ever applies to you).
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and surface a notice in the app the next time you open it.
